- Assemble the Filter: Connect the impeller cover, filter cover, and any additional filter media (like activated carbon if applicable) to the machine head.

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficiency of your filter and the health of your aquarium.

- Cleaning Filter Media:
- Biochemical Cotton: When cleaning the biochemical cotton, use water from the aquarium or dechlorinated tap water. Avoid using tap water directly or hot water, as this can kill beneficial nitrifying bacteria essential for biological filtration.

- Cleaning Impeller and Housing: Remove the impeller cover and the impeller. Clean any debris or buildup from the impeller and its housing using a small brush.

- Water turning black after activated carbon replacement: This indicates the activated carbon was not rinsed thoroughly before installation. Remove and rinse until water runs clear.

- For larger aquariums (e.g., 80 liters or more), consider models with higher power and flow rates like the CHJ-902 or CHJ-1502. For tanks 200-300 liters, the largest available model is recommended.
